From 28 to 30 November 2012 the international scientific conference Comet 2012 - Applied Technology in mechanical engineering was held at Jahorina, the first major scientific conference organized by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of East Sarajevo. Aim of the Conference was to present modernized and optimized production processes implementing advanced technologies which are the result of scientific research.
Within the Twinning project “Achieving the highest safety and technical quality of construction” which is being implemented in Montenegro, a regional meeting of the representatives of the Technical Committees of the Institutes for Standardization was held on 21 November 2012.
From 20 to 23 November 2012 the delegation of Bosnia and Herzegovina composed of representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations and the Institute for Standardization of BiH visited the Czech Development Agency and the Czech Office for Standards, Metrology and Testing. Czech Development Agency has decided to financially support the establishment of certification bodies according to the New Approach Directives (Low Voltage Directive and Construction Products Directive).
7th Conference of the Quality in BiH “Quality as a key factor in business” was held in Capljina from 07 to 09 November 2012. The first day was focused on quality system in the production and distribution of food and beverages, and quality infrastructure for export: product certification, laboratory accreditation according to ISO 17025 and certification of environmental management systems according to ISO 14001.

On 08.11.2012 Mr. Alexis Meyer-Cirkel, representative of the IMF mission, visited the Institute for standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Mission visited Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to hold talks with BiH authorities within the first review of Stand-by Arrangement.

From 01 to 05 October 2012, in Oslo (Norway), 76th Annual Meeting of IEC was held. Norwegian Electrotechnical Committee (NEK) hosted all events under the protection of His Majesty King Harald V. Aleksandar Cincar, Director of the Institute for Standardization, and Mirjana Šućur, Secretary General of BAKE represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at the General Assembly.

From 17 to 22 September 2012, in San Diego, California 35th General Assembly of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was held, hosted by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). In the work of the Assembly Mr. Aleksandar Cincar, Director of the Institute and Mr. Miljan Savic, expert for standardization in ISO/CEN area also participated as representatives of the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
