The Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina, through itsTechnical Committee BAS/TC 1, Information Technology, has adopted the first edition of BAS ISO/IEC 42001:2025 Information technology – Artificial intelligence – Management system, which is a translation of the English version of ISO/IEC 42001:2023, Information technology — Artificial intelligence — Management system.

BAS ISO/IEC 42001:2025 specifies requirements and provides guidance for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving an Artificial Intelligence (AI) management system within organization.

This document is intended to help the organization develop, provide, or use AI systems responsibly in pursuing their objectives and meet applicable requirements, obligations related to interested parties and expectations from them.

This document is applicable to any organization, regardless of its size, type, or nature, that provides or uses products or services that utilize AI systems.

The original texts of the standard were prepared by the Technical Committee ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 42, Artificial intelligence, whose secretariat is held by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
