A second seminar on Eurocodes and their practical application in public works in Bosnia and Herzegovina

As part of the implementation of ČRA-ÚNMZ-ISBIH project “Strengthening the capacity of national quality infrastructure for standardization and assessment of construction products in Bosnia and Herzegovina”, the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ISBIH) in cooperation with the Czech Development Agency, Czech Office for Standards, Metrology and Testing (ÚNMZ), Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Srpska organized a seminar on Eurocodes and their practical application in public works in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The seminar was held on May 26, 2022 via videoconference (Zoom). The event was attended by 21 participants.

The seminar was intended for competent institutions in BiH adopting regulations and laws in the field of construction, designers of building structures with all of their associated phases, building constructors, professional associations in the field of construction, engineering chambers as well as all stakeholders in order to raise awareness of the importance of Eurocodes and to gain new knowledge about the significance and importance of applying Eurocodes in modern construction.

The aim of the seminar was to answer the participants’ basic questions about standardization, European standards for Eurocodes, application of Eurocodes in  public works in BiH and Czech Republic.

Lecturers at this seminar were: professors from Sarajevo and Prague, a representative of a design company and ISBIH employees.

The seminar was very successful. It was the last of two seminars that were organized during the realization of this project for professional public.
