14th Congress on Transport Infrastructure and Transport – Railways was held

In recent decades, the European Union has been actively working on strengthening the role of railways in sustainable transport. According to data from the European Commission, transport accounts for about 25% of total greenhouse gas emissions, while railways contribute only 0.4%, making them one of the most environmentally friendly modes of transport.

At the 14th Congress on Transport Infrastructure and Transport – Railways, held on 2–3 October 2025 in Sarajevo, experts, operators, and manufacturers from the EU and the region exchanged experiences on improving railway systems.

Faruk Kubat, a member of the Technical Committee BAS/TC 46, Railways, presented a paper titled “New Intelligent Traffic Management Functions – Advanced Software Solutions Based on Machine Learning Techniques.”
