As every year, the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ISBIH) has published its promotional Annual Report showcasing the results and activities from the previous year.

Key Achievements and Activities in 2024:

-        1,736 new BAS standards, amendments, and other standardization documents has been published.

-        In 2024, 33 standards, 1 standardization document, and 2 amendments were adopted into BiH standardization by translation method.

-        651 individuals participated in standardization work, representing 332 business entities (organizations) and 33 individuals (natural persons).

-        As of December 31, 2024, 75 meetings of technical committees and working groups were held.

-        332 new terms with definitions were added to the standardization terminology dictionary. As of December 31, 2024, the dictionary contained 11,281 terms in one of BiH's official languages and English.

-        ISBIH continuously monitors the status and changes of harmonized standards aligned with New Approach regulations and directives. Reviews of adopted European harmonized standards are available on the ISBIH's website.

-        2,017 standards and standardization documents were sold, with 81% of BAS standards and standardization documents in digital format. Online access for reading BAS standards for a period of 7 days was charged for 37 standards and standardization documents. Online access for reading BAS standards for a period of 30 days was charged for 13 standards.

-        During 2024, Ex-Commission of BiH recieved total of 64 requests which were submitted by manufacturers, users of Ex-equipment, and companies planning to engage in explosion protection. Out of that number:

·         51 requests were processed

·         7 requests are in progress

·         6 requests are not realized.

-        The Ex-Commission has processed and issued 81 certificates and 31 expert opinions. For  more information regarding other activities of the Ex-Commision see Annual Report 2024.

-        During 2024, the Information and Notification Point of ISBiH has responded to 56 inquiries (written/oral) and issued 25 declaration of standard equivalency with BAS standards.

-        ISBIH, as a full member of ISO, fulfilled its obligations arising from full membership. The corresponding ISBIH technical committees have the status of active member (P-member) in the following technical bodies: ISO/CASCO, Committee on Conformity Assessment; ISO/TC 34/SC 12, Sensory analysis; ISO/TC 176, Quality management and quality assurance; ISO/TC 193/SC 1, Analysis of natural gas; and ISO/TC 334, Reference materials.

-        In 2024, appointed members from the corresponding ISBIH technical committees voted on a total of 67 draft international standards and other working documents in various stages of development. There were a total of 37 final votes, namely: 6 Committee Drafts (ISO/CD), 1 Draft Technical Report (ISO/DTR), 2 Draft International Standards (ISO/DIS), 9 Final Draft International Standards (ISO/FDIS) and 19 Systematic Review votes (SR)

-        ISBIH is obliged to inform the European Standards Organizations CEN, CENELEC and ETSI on all adopted European standards and other standardization documents.

-        As of December 31, 2024, ISBIH has adopted 92.38% of European standards (EN/HD) published by CEN and CENELEC, and 98% of European standards (EN) published by ETSI into the BiH standardization system.

-        The management and employees of ISBIH followed the presentations of representatives of international and European standardization organizations at their general assemblies via virtual meetings or by participating at the events.

-        Notable events in 2024:

·         "Standardization and Quality in Postal Services" conference

·         9th Balkan Standardization Conference

·         23rd INFOTEH-JAHORINA 2024 symposium

·         Developmet of the regional cooperation

·         5th Energy Summit in Trebinje

·         Electric Vehicle Week - (EV Week 2024 )

-        4 issues of ISBIH Bulletin and 4 editions of ISBIH Newsletter were published.

-        CEN and CENELEC’s ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) reporting brochure was translated and published.

-        The first surveillance audit of the integrated management system, quality management system, and information security management system was conducted in accordance with the ISO 9001:2015 and ISO/IEC 27001:2013. Following the audit, it was concluded that the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina meets the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 and ISO/IEC 27001:2013, and a decision was made to maintain the certification.
