BiH standard BAS EN 12521:2026 Furniture – Safety, strength and durability – Requirements for domestic tables

The fourth edition of the BiH standard BAS EN 12521:2026 has been prepared in a bilingual version, in Bosnian and English.

The original text of the European Standard was prepared by CEN/TC 207 “Furniture”, the secretariat of which is held by UNI.

BAS EN 12521:2026 specifies the minimum requirements for the safety, strength and durability of all types of domestic tables for use by adults, including those with glass in their construction. It also includes additional test methods in Annex A and Annex B.

This standard does not apply to office tables or desks, tables for non-domestic use, tables for educational institutions, or outdoor tables for which separate European Standards exist.

It does not apply to tables where the table top is not fixt to the undrstructure. With the exception of stability tests, this document does not provide the assessment of the suitability of any storage features included in domestic tables.

This standard does not include requirements for electrical safety.
It does not include requirements for resistance to ageing and degradation.

Annex A (normative) contains test methods for finger entrapment.
Annex B (informative) contains a tabletop deflection test.
Annex C (informative) contains nationale.
